Det enda logiska steget för Activision Blizzard att ta när de konverterat alla andra delar av den japanska Beatmania-spelserien till oss i väst var att avsluta med en egen tolkning av Beatmania IIDX, alltså ett rytmspel där man spelar som DJ. Och nu har det officiella pressmeddelandet för DJ Hero skickats ut, tillsammans med en ny trailer (ni kan se båda här nedan).
DJ Hero kommer att innehålla fler än 100 låtar från artister/grupper som Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Justice, Marvin Gaye, Beck, Beastie Boys och N.E.R.D, som gjorts om till 80 mixar och spelas med det nya DJ-tillbehöret, med en helt snurrbar skivspelare, samplingsknappar, effektvred och en crossfading-funktion. Utöver crossfading och sampling så kan man även mixa och scratcha. I de två bilderna nedan så ser ni att upplägget påminner rätt mycket om det vanliga gränssnittet, så det lär nog inte vara så svårtytt.
Man kan även spela samtidigt med någon som har en gitarr, vilket är ett klokt val. Annars finns risken att det bara är någon som står vid ett bord och spelar, vilket inte är särskilt festligt. Exakt hur bra detta blir vet vi inte förrän i höst, men vi hoppas på att få testa det inom kort i alla fall.
